WELCOME TO THE DEVILMAN WIKI
Hello and welcome to the Devilman Wiki! A database for all things related to Go Nagai's Devilman, including its characters, manga and anime.
ABOUT THE MANGA
The original Devilman was an adaptation and remake of Nagai's previous work Demon Lord Dante, and was first published in 1972. At the same time as the manga's publishing the companyToei was airing an anime series set entirely in its own universe for up to 39 episodes. Various novels, spin-off series and two OVA's were made, the Dante manga being remade twice, but it wasn't until Nagai really brought back his series with the manga Devilman Lady which ran for three years spanning 17 volumes in 1997 to 2000. The series popularity spawned new interest in the franchise and Nagai worked with Yu Kinutani to create Amon: The Darkside of the Devilman, which was accompanied by a third OVA and was later sequeled by Strange Days. At the same time as Amon's publishing, a series namedNeo Devilman was published featuring story's all written and drawn by different artists. There have been many more series and crossovers in recent years, including the manga Devilman Grimoire by Takato Rui which finished with 21 chapters in 2014, shortly after another manga Devilman Saga by Go Nagai himself began on December 25 of that same year. In 2018 a ten episode anime series titled Devilman Crybaby was commissioned by the streaming site Netflix.
